This
page contains information listed in the Port Washington North Newsletter
and are also FAQs (frequently asked questions). Below is a brief
listing. If you don't see what you are looking for, please call
the Village office 883-5900 between 9 and 3.
-
The
Village will be adding the cost for a special Village markout
of these lines to every fence permit and excavation permit that
is applied for.
-
This
should run about $75 on top of the $75 permit.
-
These
permits already require a markout to be completed.
-
Those
persons who are " fixing their fence" and don't need a permit
still need a markout.
-
Buried
electric lines are live and could cause serious injury to anyone
who breaks them.
-
In
addition to these electric lines, one must also be aware of gas,
LIPA, Cablevision and Verizon lines as well.
-
The
village has been paying for repairs of homeowners/contractors
who cut the electric lines running to our street lights without
getting a permit or a markout. The average cost to repair this
damage is $1,000. The village should not continue to bare the
burden of persons who don't follow the code.
