Dear Residents:

I hope that all of you are safe following the tropical storm earlier this week. I, like many of you, still do not have power to my home. This has been very frustrating for the Village as we have worked to notify PSEG of the extensive outages in order to get them repaired quickly.

Since the storm passed through our area on Tuesday evening, the Village has been working with our Public Works Department and tree trimming contractors to ensure that we keep our village safe from downed trees and debris. We have been working to clear roadways and assist residents by clearing downed trees and limbs on homeowner’s property. If you see a downed tree or large branches blocking roadways, please call Village Hall. Also, if you see a tree that is leaning where it could potentially fall, please call Village Hall. Please note that any downed trees that are not on Village property are the responsibility of the homeowner. However, we will assist in putting all residents in contact with a tree removal company, if needed.

As mentioned, the Village has reached out to PSEG to ensure quick responses in the event of power outages. We ask that you report power outages and downed wires until the service is restored. Customers should call PSEG Long Island’s Customer Service line at 1-800-490-0075, used the PSEG mobile app or text My Alerts at 773-454 to make a report.

Also, the PSEG Outage Map can be found at https://outagemap.psegliny.com/ with reports of outages in your area, as well as estimated restoration times.

Please know that the Village is doing all we can to push PSEG to restore power to all residents as quickly as possible.

Thank you and be safe.

Mayor Bob
