Meet Bob Barbach, The New Village Building Inspector

Robert Barbach was appointed Port North Building Inspector at the beginning of this year. He has been an architect for almost 30 years. After working for some of the most prestigious architectural firms in New York City, in 1993, he formed Barbach & Associates.

His extensive experience with commercial and residential construction makes him an ideal fit for the diverse building types in Port Washington North. Barbach & Associates is currently completing work for the pharmaceutical advertising agency Cline Davis & Mann, in New York City and in Princeton, New Jersey; as well as Temple Isaiah in Great Neck.

Mr. Barbach is a graduate of Washington University and a resident of Great Neck. His wife Nancy is a pediatric oncology social worker at Schneider Children’s Hospital, his daughter Erin is a recent graduate of Baruch College and his son Jordan is attending Northeastern University.

The Building Inspector of the Village administers and enforces all of the provisions of laws, ordinances and regulations applicable to the construction, alteration, repair, removal and demolition of buildings and structures, including plumbing and drainage, and the installation and use of materials and equipment.

He works for the Village Mon. and Fri. 9 to 11am and Thurs. 9am to 3pm.

The Deputy Building Inspector Fred Lauria works Mon. and Wed. 9am to 3pm.
